چکیده

Abstract Background China has made great progress in ecological restoration. However, there have been no analyses on restoration for specific terrestrial ecosystems. This study identified the important knowledge gaps and advances related to China. Results 7973 papers published between 1978 2020 were investigated about 962 articles used this analysis after manually screening. Since first large national project 1978, most frequently studied ecosystem shifted from farmland ecosystems 1978–2000 forest 2000. Forests common type investigated, while less attention was paid wetlands riparian systems. Meanwhile, issue environmental pollution declining resource-carrying capacity of Studies ecoregions Loess Plateau catchment accounted more than 40% reviewed study, with predominant emphasis soil water conservation functionality. Besides, revegetation afforestation characterized projects China, but natural relatively adopted. Additionally, tool reference only four studies. Conclusions Ecological significant We how can be implemented effectively. More should restorative work systems future. The tradeoff activities, resources, carbon sink needs further research efforts. biodiversity is warranted. Newly developed theory (e.g., stepwise restoration) recently issued Chinese National Guidelines Restoration Projects effectively future works. provides essential information It also insights into development policy relevant adaptive management during U.N. decade.

Review of Ecological Restoration Technology for Mine Tailings in China

Article history: Received: 11.11.2014. Received in revised form: 4.2.2015. Accepted: 6.2.2015. The disposal of mine tailings is identified as one source of an environmental impact finally resulting in a typically degraded ecosystem. It can easily cause air and water pollution and is a source of man-made mudslides with high-potential socioeconomic-energy impacts. Pollution control and ecological...

Economic development, rural livelihoods, and ecological restoration: evidence from China.

This article uses a case study in Southeast China to demonstrate how the substantial changes in rural livelihoods have been driven by a combination of "pull" forces from external economic development, and "push" forces from local areas, leading to a shift in rural household economic activities: household outmigration and de-population of the countryside, changes in energy consumption, and most ...

Terrestrial Arthropods as Indicators of Ecological Restoration Success in Coastal Sage Scrub (California, U.S.A.)

Ecological restoration enjoys widespread use as a technique to mitigate for environmental damage. Success of a restoration project often is evaluated on the basis of plant cover only. Recovery of a native arthropod fauna is also important to achieve conservation goals. I sampled arthropod communities by pitfall trapping in undisturbed, disturbed, and restored coastal sage scrub habitats in sout...
